"I know that I've got to step up this year and so in the off season I did a lot of training; running, stationary cycle, small weights, cardio. I bought a YZ125 but only got out on it 3 times on a flat track, once motocross. I wasn't used to it and it high-sided me, I learnt though and got used to the sliding. I also got out on 125 road racer 3 times, ride days and races and got a lot more confident in the wet."
"So this year I know I have got to be in the top 10 minimum, should be top 5. A big improvement would be my starts. Last year even when I qualified well I would be last into the first corner. Also I need to be looking further ahead on the exits to corners and generally riding harder."
"As far as tracks go it is a shame we are not at Le Mans this year. I enjoy Jerez and Sachsenring. At Sachsenring I adapted quicker than I did like at Mugello. I love the Grand Prix tracks and watching the GP guys. Of the 250s it's Bautista, he's got the best style, so smooth and quick. For the 125s, Bradl; Casey in MotoGP, at every track last year he would be fast from the first laps, also dominated practice. Rossi's my favourite rider but Casey really impressed."
