A classic beginning for Aleix. "Since I was very little I saw motorcycle racing on TV. It was my passion. The fortune came when my father saw to my every desire to ride a bike and pointed to a selection for young drivers in the RACC Promovelocidad Scholarship. I was accepted at 8 years of age. My father has always had sport bikes but has never driven in races, although he has helped me to learn all I know so far."
"From the first day I started to ride a bike my father has always been teaching me everything. He has always been watching me while I train and commenting on things about my driving that I cannot see, or exchange views with me on how best to achieve the objectives on the track. Even today, I like my father to watch me while I train for his comments and then I also note them on a with chalkboard.'

He is learning all the time. "Last year I learned to fight in the "Melee" for the first podium places and recover from adversity."
He knows where he is going; chasing the achievements of his hero Valentino Rossi and: "Getting the name Aleix Viu as a name to be reckoned with in the paddock and on the track."
"This year I want to finish the RookiesCup amongst the top three finishers and be regular throughout the tournament. In the CEV I want to perform a consolidated basis to learn as much as possible in Moto3."
He has already had some great races. "My best race was with the Honda CBR 250R Cup in Cheste. All participants wanted to show what they were capable front of all the World Championship riders who were there, because that same weekend we shared circuit with MotoGP. The Official Practice did not go very well, so I was eighth on the grid in both races.
But I did well enough to finish first in the first race and a third in the second. That put me on the top of the podium overall."
"Another good one was 2014 at Motorland Aragon. This race was very important to me. Qualifying 1 and 2 were very difficult, because of the changing second gear broke and I couldn't use it."
"We all know that this gear is very important in the exit of the corkscrew and the previous chicane that precedes the long straight. With this handicap, I qualified eighth."
"The next day, in the warm up, with the repaired engine I stood in first position showing that if the engine ran well I could fight for the podium. When the race began, it was a little difficult climb from eighth position to the front of the race, but in the second lap I was in first position leading the group and getting on the second lap the fastest lap and record.
I finally finished in second position by a few thousandths."
He is happy to list his favourite racing corners:
- Inverted Corkscrew Estoril
- Corner Cheste number 12 / Valéncia
- Jerez corner plot 9 and 10 (Nieto and Peluqui)
- T2 Mugello
At school he enjoys construction and technology and apart from that skiing in winter training with supermotard and the company of friends.

Racing is his love though. "I like the teamwork to tune the bike and rider and to achieve the objectives. I am happy to say that we have done well but not win the race, if we win we win all with Teamwork. But then, I like to win and do my best for it."
"I love the challenge of it all, to get the most out of my driving on unfamiliar circuits in the first free practice and overcoming adversity."
"My best race of 2015 is included in two events: Missano, because at that circuit I "woke up" and found the way to be competitive and be in the top positions. Then Motorland, because there I showed that I could be winning the championship, but ultimately bad luck accompanied me."
"What I learned in the 2015's is that I have to work hard to achieve success. A split second is a remarkable triumph or a defeat ... My expectations for 2016: be good enough and competitive on the bike for the championship win."
